So this weekend I was in Los Angeles with my sister visiting her son. My sister has been wanting to try WP24, Wolfgang Puck's fine dining establishment on the 24th floor of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in downtown LA. The menu looked superb, although pricey, and the views were incredible. I have eaten at several of his restaurants here in Las Vegas and just loved them so I was excited to go. The interior of the restaurant was gorgeous and the views were as well. The menu was a choice of a 3 or 4 course dinner with lots of options. All of our appetizers and entrees were delicious, then, they apparently totally forgot about us. We waited 45 minutes to order dessert. My sister and nephew's desserts were beautifully plated and tasted great. Mine on the other hand, was supposed to be a fresh fruit Naploeon with hibiscus and blood orange sorbets. When they put it down in front of me, we all looked at each other in astonishment. It was basically poorly cut up fruit with a melted pool of the sorbets and this really disgusting green tea " biscuit." I actually called the server over and said that this was certainly not what the menu description led me to expect and that I was truly surprised that they served it. He simply said that the kitchen was busy. No offer to bring me another dessert and even though I did not eat it and sent it back, it was not taken off the bill. I asked for the manager and not only did he never come by, the coffee I ordered never arrived. While I did leave a standard tip, for a fine dining restaurant, this was appalling. Then they said they validated my uber expensive parking fee for the hotel, but when I got my car from valet, they said the validation was not correct. At that point, I was done. I paid $20.00 to bail my car out. Not only would I never go back, I am sending a letter to the corporate chef for Wolfgang Puck fine dining. I rarely spurge on these types of meals but when I do, I expect only the best. So, my rant is over...what are your restaurant rants?
